Transformers G1 Constructicon Hook AFA 90
Posted by: iamratchet
In 1985 Hasbro released a combiner figure named Devastator. He was first released in the US as 6 figures that would combine to for the mighty Devastator. The 6 figures were sold separately on card backs. He would later be sold together with all 6 in a Gift Set package. The Six figures were named the Constructicons. Each bot would have his own name and personality. Today we will focus on Hook.
Below are images of Hook. His alt mode is a construction crane. He transforms from crane to robot and back. When forming the mighty Devastator he becomes the chest with the larger head accessory. The arms and torso will fit onto him to help for the rest of the mighty warrior. The loose figure is prone to breaking. The legs are easily snapped. Making a nice vintage Hook the hardest to find in nice condition.
Factory sealed he is harder to find in high grade. The bubble to hold hook was a nice design for quick sales. It however does not stand the test of time. The crane will bust through that plastic bubble lowering the nicest card to a lower grade. The example shown is the highest graded Hook to date. He is also on a TM logo card. The TM log was done away with in 1985 and replaced with the R logo. TM logos are more sought after since they are the first release of the figure.
Now that the hardest Constructicon has been found in the best grade it is time to look for the other 5. Hopefully I can add those to this post later on. Until then I will enjoy the look of Hook. I hope that you will enjoy him as well.
